My Story

Vinod Bangalorean and a native of Tiruvannamalai, Tamil Nadu did his schooling at Shantiniketan educational institutions and pre-university at Christ Junior College in Bangalore. Inspired by a Tamil movie, he pursued his bachelor’s in biotechnology to pursue his interests in translational medicine. Keen to explore more, supported by the universe conspiring him to pursue a Ph.D., he landed in Siddharth Jhunjhunwala's lab at BSSE. His research interests include clinical/translational studies in diabetes and diabetes-associated complications. Vinod loves gaming and food, and when he says food – ‘it is only biriyani.’ He also likes to sketch, edit or create videos and explore new audio/video editing software. Early morning bike rides, binge-watching thrillers and medical series invigorate him. You can grab a plate of biriyani instead of a cup of coffee if you want to catch up with Vinod.
