Principal Investigator

Siddharth Jhunjhunwala

March 2016 - Present

My Story

Siddharth lived in Chennai (India) for the first 21 years of his life, doing his schooling in Kendriya Vidyalaya and obtaining an undergraduate degree in Biotechnology from Alagappa College of Technology, Anna University. His research journey took him to University of Pittsburgh (USA) for a doctoral degree and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (USA) for a postdoctoral fellowship, before he decided to move back to India to join the Centre for BioSystems Science and Engineering at the Indian Institute of Science. Apart from research, Siddharth has an avid interest in sports and loves to watch Cricket and Basketball. While he has enjoyed playing both sports in the past, he has not yet figured out the logistics of playing again. If you do not find Siddharth in the lab, do check out one of the many eateries around IISc, as he is likely enjoying one of the many delicacies that restaurants in Bengaluru have to offer.
