My Story

Abhinav was born and brought up in Kannur, Kerala. He did his schooling at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Kannur, where his interest in science first took root, and later pursued his Bachelor’s in Biotechnology from NIT Calicut. Eager to delve deeper into clinical research, he went on to complete his Master’s in Bioengineering at IISc. During his Master’s, he joined Sidhharth Jhunjhunwala’s lab to work on a collaborative project with Siemens Healthineers, analyzing clinical datasets related to diabetes. Due to his keen interest in the project and the lab, He returned to pursue a PhD in the same lab. His research interests lie at the interface of data science and translational medicine, especially in the context of metabolic disorders like diabetes. Apart from research, Abhinav enjoys reading books and listening to music. He is always on the lookout for a good reading recommendation and a new playlist to explore.
