• Over 10 crore Indians are estimated to have Diabetes.
• About 15% will develop diabetic foot ulcers.

What are we doing?
• In collaboration with clinicians at Karnataka Institute of Endocrinology Research, we are studying how immune cells may contribute to the development and progression of diabetic foot ulcers.
• We are also developing drug releasing bandages that modulate local immune responses and hence have the potential to heal ulcers faster.

Ultimate Goal:
Develop a new and improved therapeutic that addresses key immunological problems in diabetic foot ulcers.
